2 Timothy 1:8-11
... by the power of God, who has saved us
and called us to a holy life - not because of anything we have done but because of
His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning
of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,
who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher.
To follow Jesus requires submitting ourselves to His lordship and witnessing to Him. He has redeemed us to live for Him. We do that by caring for others. Through the Gospel we can assure people of God's forgiveness in Christ and free them to grow in holiness and good works. With the gift of faith we trust that in Christ God has accomplished everything for our salvation.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
That a person is rescued from sin and death through the loving action of God in Jesus Christ. (Read more from the Official LCMS Website)
Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are set free to live our lives dedicated to our Lord's great commission to "Make disciples of all nations."
We, as Lutherans, believe that God is love and freely offers forgiveness, life, and salvation through Christ. We are "called" to bring all people closer to Jesus through sharing the Word of God, encouraging participation in worship of Him, and inviting others to study His word and become His disciples.
